This past Saturday we had our ward party. It was the Polar Express theme and we all got to go in our jammies!! The boys were so excited that Santa was going to come and they could tell him what they want for Christmas! Both of the boys had been saying over and over...Porter, I want Optimus Prime and a dog. Mason, I want a fast car. So when their turns came they were not scared at all! They both just walked right up to him sat down and smiled for the picture! Afterward we asked them did you tell Santa what you wanted and both of them frowned and said no. Porter was very concerned that he wouldn't get what he wanted. I tried to tell him we will write him a letter but that was not good enough! So we waited until the last child sat on Santa's knee and went for our second turn. Mason told him he wanted a fast car, check Santa's elves already have it wrapped! Porter gets up there and says I want Ironman!! What!! Santa's elves already have Optimus Prime wrapped and ready for Christmas!! Ironman!! Where did that come from?!? We are hoping that his want for Optimus Prime will return in the next 10 days!
A few days ago we went and enjoyed the temple lights. I just love the temple lights they are so beautiful and the boys loved them too! It was so cold outside it was perfect! As we walked past the huge nativity scene I overheard a lady explaining the whole story of Jesus's birth to an Asian woman. The woman was just looking at the manger scene in awe! I was amazed that someone had never heard the story of Jesus's birth before! As we walked away I leaned over and told Matt and he said isn't it amazing that there is a whole culture who does not know about our Savior! It made me even more grateful for the gospel in my life. I love this time of year where we can remember and celebrate the birth of our Savior and share it with others. It's beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas!
